Our Lady of the Cape Shrine is proud to host the 8th edition of the Trois-Rivières Visual Arts Symposium in its gardens. In 2025, the event will be held on September 6 and 7, 2025.

  • Saturday, September 6: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sunday, September 7: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

It will bring together artists from various mediums.

HONORARY PRESIDENT

Introduction of the honorary president: FERDINY
Suzie Lafrenière was born in Mauricie – pseudonym Ferdiny.

Her studio is located in the small village of Saint-Boniface, in Mauricie.

A self-taught painter, she has been painting with her heart since 1992. From a young age, she was drawn to art, often retreating to draw and/or craft. Her artistic adventure began with photography in 1988, which propelled her toward painting on canvas. From there, a creative universe opened up to her that would never close.

Now she lets herself go, always evolving, creating what she loves most: the inner lives of the characters she calls “My Intimists.”

A word from the honorary président

It is with great pleasure that I have accepted the honorary president of this wonderful event, the Trois-Rivières Visual Arts Symposium.

What a privilege!

This is a whole new experience for me!

This welcoming and friendly Symposium invites you to come and meet 60 friendly, talented, and inspiring artists in a truly remarkable setting…

It will be a great pleasure to see you there!

I wish everyone—exhibitors, visitors, and, of course, the generous volunteers and organizers—an excellent Symposium!

AWARD INFORMATION

The Coup de Cœur Award: your vote makes all the difference!

This award exists thanks to you. It’s an opportunity to celebrate the artist who has inspired, dazzled, or surprised you the most.

To vote:

  • Write down the name or booth number of your favorite artist during your visit.
  • Go to the Coup de Cœur table to fill out your ballot.
  • Write your name and phone number on your ballot to enter the draw for a chance to win a painting valued at $1,400, donated by our honorary president. The painting is on display at the Coup de Cœur tent. More details will be revealed on the event page.

The grand prize winner will receive a trophy, and two honorable mentions will be awarded to other talented artists.

Jury Prize: The Judges
We are pleased to introduce the members of the jury for the “Jury Prize” at the 2025 Trois-Rivières Visual Arts Symposium: Stephen Babin, painter, Alain Lacoursière, and Rolande Ouellon.

Each member of the jury will visit each booth on Saturday for a maximum of 3 minutes. Artists will therefore have the opportunity to present their work and their artistic approach.

The winner of the Jury Prize will be awarded the honorary presidency of the 2026 Symposium, as well as free admission to the symposium and a trophy. We will also award two honorable mentions.
