Cape-Youth

Cape-Youth offers an unconditional welcome and animation for youngsters and families who come to the Our Lady of the Cape Shrine. Animation for young people by young people is offered throughout the year and is adapted to the needs of the groups.

Cape-Youth offers two categories of thematic days.

  • Faith Deepening Days. For groups who are on a spiritual journey. The theme is confirmation along with The Holy Spirit, forgiveness and a Marial family pilgrimage, There is also a half day on communion.
  • Human Growth Days. For groups who are looking for themes based on values favoring individual growth : self esteem, positive leadership, Christian and Aboriginal myths and symbols, change the world, respect, perseverance, making choices.

Cape-Youth also offers other types of animation that can extend over several days. Among others, Family Days (3 days) are held every 2 months under the theme « Let’s spend time….with family ». These days began in Drummondville and were held here in Trois-Rivières in 2016.

Throughout the year, Cape-Youth offers several activities : story telling and puppet theaters, the Shrine Café at the service center where hot beverages and snacks are available to visitors, « a Candle for a Friend », Family Day, Palm Sunday Feast, COCO 3R, contemporary Way of the Cross, and more.

Cape-Youth is a partner in the Cap-de-la-Madeleine districts summer events which are held in the Shrine’s parking lot.

In October, in partnership with the Diocese of Trois-Rivières and other organizations, Cape-Youth participates in the Celebration of Angels which is a warm, simple, compassionate and hopeful gathering for families in perinatal mourning.
