The Novena of the Assumption – August 7 to 15
Theme 2023: To whom shall we go?
Day 1: You are the Source of live. – John 10, 10
I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Day 2: You are the Truth – John 14, 5-6
5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Day 3: You are the Mesiricordious Shepherd – Matthew 18, 12-14
12 “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? 13 And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. 14 In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.
Day 4: You are always with us – Matthew 28, 19-20
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Day 5: You are the bread of life – John 6, 35
35 Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.
Day 6: You are the Prince of Peace – Isaiha 9, 6
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Day 7: You have the words of eternal life – John 6, 68
68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.
Day 8: You exult with joy – Luc 10, 21
21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
Day 9: Here is your mother – John 19, 26-27
26 When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, “Woman,[b] here is your son,” 27 and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.”
